So since I last wrote in this thing I got back addicted to World of Warcraft, and am now unaddicted, I only go to raids and sometimes will run heroics with friends. I've moved to Ohio and it's really nice here. Been busy unpacking and realised I'm so far behind on my console gaming. After I finish unpacking and get Ebay started back, I need to work on getting caught up with all the video games that need to be finished. I don't know whether to go in alphabetical order, RPG/nonRPG, or finish all the short games first and then get to the RPGs. Ah well, I'll figure it out.
I'm kinda disappointed in myself with the way I am on camera on Youtube, the real me isn't showing through. I'm so introverted and shy and now that's catching up to me. I can barely finish a sentence without pausing, it's so aggravating. I can't believe I can't do something as simple as be myself in front of the camera. I feel like such a failure, maybe I should have just stuck with this text journal here, at least my grammar is pretty good.
Well it took alot of courage but I finally uploaded my first Youtube video this morning. I filmed it yesterday morning and edited it and then spent the rest of yesterday and this morning trying to find the right way to optimize it. Youtube has a 100mb limit and none of the programs I have contain the option to tell it how big you need the file, so I had to do a bit of experimenting until I found the trick. I'm so nervous in that video but it's understandable I guess. I hope to be able to act more naturally in future videos. Guess I'll start on my next video now. The link to my Youtube page is over on the left.
Last week I went to Alabama to visit my family, it was fun. I took lots of pics and video which I'll post up soon. Right now I'm working on getting all the stuff on my hardrive organized before I add even more to it. I'm also going to do my intro video sometime this week and get it posted up. Before I left I made a new banner here with a Secret of Mana theme, I think it's pretty cute. Well I better get busy organizing, got about 50 gigs to go through. I'll probably be adding stuff on here as well.
After a little research I found the best program to do video editing in, Adobe Premiere Elements 3! I should have known it would be a program from Adobe, duh. So this past week I've been learning and playing around with that. But of course, nothing can be easy can it? I figured since I still had some video I haven't captured from my camcorder I'd practice on that, it should be quick right? Wrong. It wasn't the program that gave me problems, it was the camcorder. First of all my computer wouldn't install the driver for it, so I had to install it on my laptop, then the sound wouldn't capture for some reason. I tried different programs and then finally it worked in Windows Movie Maker (the last place you'd think). After that, the quality is horrible, looks worse than VHS. I can't take it back to the store, it's been too long, I should have captured the movies off sooner. Anyway, I went ahead and put the captures in order, added some titles and effects, and it's encoding it right now. It sure is going slow, I think it's going to take all night, and my computer is pretty decent. Strange.
Anyway, I'm pretty comfortable with the program, got the basics down and all. I'll be making my first video soon, I'm just working on my list of stuff to talk about in my intro video.
Since I haven't been playing WoW so much I've had time to catch up on my websurfing and finding out what's been going on in the world of cyberspace. I've known about youtube.com for a long time now but it wasn't until the beginning of this week that I found another part of youtube, it almost seems like it was hidden. I found what are called video blogs or vlogs, which are journals on video. At first I thought it'd be boring but once I started watching some, it was very interesting, almost addicting. At first I thought it was just a few people doing this kind of thing but it's thousands, it's like a whole new world. This is probably old news to most people but I've been in Azeroth (WoW world) so long I must have missed when this whole vlog thing started.
Everyone on there seems so nice and looks to be having alot of fun, I'm very tempted to start doing my own videos. In fact, I already got an account on there and am currently looking over different video editing programs to see which one I like best. I've never worked with video before (other than burning onto dvd) so this will also be a learning experience. I'm so shy so I'm not a hundred percent sure if I'm going to do this yet, but what is there to lose? Nothing really.
Some other sites I found were I Can Has Cheezburger and Stuff on my Cat which are really cute sites with lots of kittehs.
On July 3rd my cat Zelda aka Kitten passed away. I still can't believe she's gone, she was my best friend, she was my baby. She was a beautiful grey striped Maine Coon with the best personality I've ever met of any cat. It's hard to even type this still, I've never been so sad in my life. I miss her so much and would give anything to have her back. To the right is a picture of her as a kitten.
I don't think I'll be playing World of Warcraft as much as I used to, I just don't feel like it anymore. I need to get back to what I should be doing, before I started playing online games I was teaching myself computer programs to get me ready for college and doing freelance work as practice. I was doing pretty good and having fun at it as well, I should put some of my work up here sometime.
Well I been level 70 a week, got my epic flying mount, got three epics, and seen all but two bosses in Karazhan (one-shotting them all but Prince), tried to beat Gruul a few times, yup, it's been a good, fun first week. :D
Well I tried to do the blog every day thing, as you can see it didn't work out. I'll just blog when I remember to I guess. I hit 63 on my mage yesterday, I'm getting a level a day so I'll be 70 soon. I joined a really nice guild a few days ago, lots of great people and they raid pretty regularly.
Hmm.. guess I'll add some more stuff on here while waiting for the WoW server to come back up. *Starts clicking on stuff*
Well yesterday I hit 365 jewelcrafting, I'm going to have to wait until I get to Outland to continue, it's just too expensive without being able to mine what I need. Going to hit level 51 today, might try for 52 I don't know, these levels are getting long now.
