On April 12th, 2002, I joined this message board called The Couch upon the insistence of my friend Dave.

My love life and personal life would never be the same. I wouldn't be where I am today had I not joined.

What, to you, is the first sign of spring? Have you seen it yet?

Since I was a kid, I've gone by whenever I see the first Robin. However, as there are very few robins in the Netherlands, I doubt I will see any.

This has been one of my favorite poems since I was a kid. It was in a collection of scary stories and poems, and it always stuck with me. The illustration that accompanied the poem in the book stayed in my mind as well. It was of a flying gargoyle/demon heading towards the back of a child who was sitting with his legs curled up and his arms around his knees in despair.

We know you never slack off at work, but if you did, what would you do?

Let's see, I'd probably use ssh to log in to my b/f's linux box and get online so I could chat, and then I'd also listen to Pandora and play Pogo games.  Oh wait, ha, that's what I did.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night owl. I have been since I was little. I hate mornings. Even if I get 12 hours of sleep, if I have to wake up in the morning, I feel tired. I always feel more awake and energized at night.

How many languages can you speak?  Which languages can you read or understand?

I speak English fluently, and I speak French and Spanish well enough to converse and read.  I speak some Japanese still and can read a bit.  I can read Dutch better than I can speak it currently, but I'm working on that.  I am moderately capable of reading Esperanto and Italian. I know how to write a bit of D'ni and Quenya, and I know a small smattering of Toki Pona.  I am able to recognize many international languages on sight. 

Who's your favorite movie villain?

Hannibal Lecter <3 Close second would be Agent Smith, if you can call him a villain. An antagonist at the very least. I love intelligent antagonists.  The Xenomorph from the Alien series would be a close follow-up, as I am very fond of things that are efficient killers.

What was the last wedding you went to?  Were you in the wedding?

My former best friend Bethany's, last July. I was not, I was just a guest. It was pretty emotional though. Still can't believe she's hitched.
